ACANTHA
the queen of parasites
Acantha is the queen of Acanthoqurinus, a parasitic species that affects the nervous system of animals, causing them to become more violent. Once infected, these animals are prone to injuring others, allowing the parasite to spread through battle wounds. Vyranthea took advantage of the nerve system modifications caused by
Acanthoqurinus and developed a method to extract and inject information into hosts.
Acantha, was a massive insect-like creature, wounded by an infected animal and subsequently infected by the Acanthoqurinus parasite. Vyranthea tracked down Acantha and used it to mass-produce the parasites and as a cover for their creation. Vyranthea further infected Acantha with a fungus, creating a symbiotic fungal network that allowed it to control individual parasites and their hosts.
Now, Acantha uses the parasites to lead hosts back to itself, devouring them to provide nutrients for the larvae.
