Eliroth and Vyranthea forged a close friendship around the first parasite outbreak. Eliroth viewed Vyranthea as a benevolent and compassionate soul, and remained a steadfast ally as they ascended to the position of Emperor. Eliroth served as a loyal protector, always by their side.

However, Eliroth's world was shattered when he discovered that Vyranthea was the mastermind behind the monsters responsible for the deaths of his loved ones. Consumed by rage and sorrow, Eliroth attempted to exact revenge. But in a moment of hesitation, the guardian was gravely wounded by Vyranthea. They injected Eliroth with a blank memory parasite and exiled him to an abandoned castle.

Decades later, Vyranthea's sanity began to deteriorate, they returned to the castle in hopes of finding forgiveness and a successor to the throne. Injected themselves with the once blank memory parasite, Vyranthea experienced profound pain and regret. They then replaced the parasite with another one containing memory fragments of Eliroth's loved ones that they had tried to retrieve over the years. Vyranthea left with Eliroth’s pain injected, hoping it would die with them.
