Vyranthea, the Emperor and final boss of the game, is driven by a belief that humanity requires a common adversary to unite and progress. Through their control of both monsters and humans, Vyranthea ensured that the war between humans and monsters would never cease, and that society would continue to advance. 

However, after years of holding unrivaled power and numerous memories in their body, Vyranthea's sanity begins to deteriorate. Seeking an inheritor, they send the executioner on a mission that will ultimately uncover the truth behind their rule.

As Vyranthea's mind slips further into madness, they await the executioner's return. After the final battle, they summon their last shred of sanity to extract their core memory and bestow it upon the player, paving the way for a new era to begin.
